2011-12 IPSF Public Health
HIV/AIDS AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
Dearest IPSF friends,
World AIDS Day is approaching very soon on December 1st, 2011.
This year marked the 23rd time celebration of Worlds AIDS Day since it was first held in 1988. In 1987, the WHO declared the 1st of December to be the World AIDS day in order to raise awareness about the HIV and AIDS pandemic. You can find the complete history of the World AIDS day from 1988-current here.
Together with people around the world, IPSF would like to invite you to join us for this year HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign. We hope to raise awareness among pharmacy students and general public, and invite you to actively participate in the campaign.
At this website you can find:
-Information about HIV/AIDS
-Stories of HIV/AIDS campaign from pharmacy organizations around the world
-This year HIV/AIDS awareness campaign project
-Information to request for HIV/AIDS campaign kit
-and much more…!
We hope this website can be a valuable source for you, pharmacy students, to get more information about HIV/AIDS, to help communicating stories about different campaigns, and eventually to guide in preparing your own successful HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign. You truly can make a difference!
We would LOVE to hear and feature your HIV/AIDS campaign story at our website!! If you have downloaded the campaign kit, we request you to kindly tell us the story of your campaign. Even if you do not use the kit, we still would like to hear your story on how you raise awareness for the HIV/AIDS day!
You can download the report form here, or you can find it at the “resources” section. Report your story by filling the form and send it to the HIV/AIDS awareness coordinator (hivaids@ipsf.org). Your story might be featured at the post-campaign newsletter, or, at the HIV/AIDS session of the world congress!!!
…and, visit aids.ipsf.org often for future updates!
Happy campaigning!
Viva la pharmacie!
Kind regards,
Juliane Christina
2011/2012 IPSF HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign Coordinator
